One of Australia’s finest luxury tour operators, which launched its UK branch last year, has unveiled a breathtaking new tour available to British travellers, exploring the entire East coast of Australia. The fully hosted, all-inclusive Grand Tour of Australia allows travellers to indulge in the finer things in life as well as take in the most stunning gardens, normally not open to the public.

Hosted by Australia’s leading television horticulturists and gardening personalities, Graham Ross and his wife Sandra, the tour invites garden enthusiasts to join him on the 14-day tour (exc flight time) from Cairns to Melbourne, via Sydney, the Blue Mountains and Canberra.

Like all Ross Garden Tours, guests enjoy plush, 5-star accommodation throughout the trip including the Shangri-La in Cairns, Hilton Hotel in Sydney and the Stamford Plaza in Melbourne. A deluxe, air-conditioned motorcoach means guests arrive at each destination relaxed and refreshed, while Graham Ross escorts the group with an expert hand and superior knowledge of the gardens, cities and culture of his homeland.

As well as the more popular sights, guests will be given access to the country’s finest private gardens and horticulture collections, as some of the best gardeners in the southern hemisphere divulge their secrets for gardening in the tropics.

Along the way visit one of the most botanically fascinating and diverse areas on earth in Queensland’s tropical rainforest; the Flecker Botanic Gardens, a tropical oasis of plants from around the world; the Chinese Garden of Friendship in Sydney, a haven of tranquility and harmony in the heart of the vibrant city; Mt Tomah’s Botanic Gardens, a cool-climate garden atop a basalt-capped peak in a World Heritage-listed rainforest; as well as learn about the world-famous Wollemi Pine, prehistoric plants, once thought extinct, which were rediscovered in 1994 and now remain hidden deep within the Greater Blue Mountains.

Notes to Editors:

With more than thirty years experience in international and Australian garden tours, the Ross family, Graham, Sandra and their children, Linda and Kent, are experts. The business expanded when Sophie Thomson, Michael McCoy and Libby Cameron, all qualified horticulturists, joined the team. Each member of the Ross Travel Team shares his or her own experiences as you enjoy the food, ambience and culture of each exciting destination.

Ross Garden Tours range from one day coach trips, to relaxing week-long, international rambles and adventure safaris to Outback Australia. Some of these safari tours access remote areas. Four wheel drive OKA vehicles are especially equipped for comfort and vision. Accommodation on the safari tours is sometimes remote and limited to Outback hotels - always comfortable and family operated.

Premier Coach Tours to Australia's finest gardens also travel to other parts of Australia where you will meet local gardeners and learn about their inspiration.

International travelers can choose to join Ross Garden Tours within Australia or link up in Europe, America or Asia where itineraries are carefully planned with luxury accommodation. Bus, train or ferry travel is all pre-arranged. National guides share their insights into history, culture and local knowledge. The Ross Tour Leader is your personal escort, coordinating all travel arrangements and is a qualified horticulturist to provide plant and garden information.
