At yesterdays Children and Media conference psychologist Dr Aric Sigman urged MP’s to issue parents with guidelines as to how much TV their children should be watching.

Parents and carers who regularly sit their children in front of the TV whilst they get on with their housework are guiltily unaware of the damage that they are imposing on their children.
Doctors agree that excessive television viewing is a major contributing factor in this modern childhood obesity epidemic – with the average eleven year old spending a staggering 55% of their waking life in front of a TV or computer screen.
Shockingly, our generation is set to outlive our children because of poor diet, fast food culture and lifestyle habits - that’s what the obesity experts tell us. With childhood obesity reaching an all-time high, our generation has to start educating our children about food and nutrition before it’s too late.

The Little Helper Fun Pod™ is an innovative new product that has been heralded by safety organisations and health professionals as socially responsible – a product that will undoubtedly give our children the best possible start in life.

It’s the ideal place to get your youngster involved with the exciting process of preparing food and cooking a meal.
Between the ages of one and five years children form many of their habits and opinions that will mould their later lives, which is why it is so important to get them out from in front of the TV and to teach them how to live a healthy life with healthy foods and attitudes.

The Fun Pod is quite simple. It replaces all of those precarious unsafe methods that our little ones employ to see what is happening on the work surface by giving them their own safely constructed platform. Once the child is positioned in the Fun Pod™ they can safely engage with their parent without the danger of toppling over and becoming a hospital statistic.

Even when you are trying to throw a meal together in minutes, pop your little one in the Fun Pod and give them a plate of things to explore. Pasta, vegetables, fruit and bread offer a range of textures and tastes to be enjoyed by eager hands. Whilst they are learning you can rustle up the meal without having to worry about what they are up to.

The Fun Pod was invented by mum Kim Johnson out of her own need to keep her daughter safe and entertained whilst she was in the kitchen. It has been well received by health professionals, dieticians, parents and especially by children. They just love it!

The Fun Pod is available in four contemporary colourways. It has five adjustable height settings for walking children aged between one and five years and a specially designed anti-tip base and lockable footplate. The Fun Pod conforms to all relevant European safety regulations.
