Tokarta is a new breed of online gallery making art accessible to all. Whatever your passion, Tokarta is sure to have something to inspire.

This new online gallery gives artists the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience whilst providing the public the chance to see art up close and buy pieces online.

This month Tokarta is profiling international award winning artist, Amanda Hone.

Painting and creativity have been a part of Amanda’s life for as long as she can remember and from her studio nestling in the foothills of Mount Snowdon she works relentlessly to satisfy her limitless creativity.

Working in a variety of media ranging from oil, acrylic and pastels to felt and wool Amanda’s work is always full of colour – the bolder and more vibrant the better. She also enjoys exploring the possibilities of texture and every piece in her portfolio, from the largest canvas to a small feltwork expresses her tremendous love of life, sense of humour and passion for creativity.

From her studio Amanda enjoys beautiful and ever-changing views over Lake Trawsfynydd which never fail to inspire her. Crammed full of books, paint, canvases and other materials her studio itself is a great source of inspiration with one wall dedicated to anything that appeals to her sense of colour and design including postcards, magazine clippings, bus tickets and postage stamps.

Other influences come from favourite artists including Ton Schulten’s astonishing sense of colour and Beryl Cook in particular for her quirky, well-observed sense of humour. She is a juried member of the EBSQ, the on-line community for self-representing artists, and is constantly inspired by the work of her fellow EBSQ artists.

With her work exhibited in galleries around the UK including Porthmadog, Chester and Suffolk and with many international patrons Amanda has found great success doing what she loves most. She recently celebrated selling over 1500 canvas in addition to the hundreds of works on paper, board or in felt she has also sold worldwide.
