Capita Education Services has changed its name to Capita Children’s Services with immediate effect. The company supplies children’s data management systems to 22,000 schools and 146 local authorities. The change in identity signifies the company’s commitment to deliver technology that meets the evolving needs of education and social care teams within local authority Children’s Services departments.

At the same time, the company has also announced that it has changed the name of one of its core products; EMS, the Education Management System, has been renamed One.

One, which is currently used by the majority of the UK’s authorities, will provide Children's Services departments with a central database which contains a single, comprehensive record for each child. One has been developed in tandem with local authority changes that now bring education and social services teams together to plan for each child’s requirements more holistically. One will give all Children’s Services practitioners one view of a child’s circumstances allowing them to assess and meet their needs more effectively.

“Capita Children’s Services is a market leader in the development of technological IT solutions for managing and interpreting information relating to children. The name changes reflect our understanding of important developments in this area and demonstrate our ability to stay ahead of the evolving needs of our customers in schools, social care and Children’s Services departments,” says Grahame Palmer, Head of Marketing, Capita Children’s Services.
