A deal bringing together two of the UK’s leading online marketing and technology communities was announced today (4th May 2007) when CNET Networks UK and Chinwag, the community for new media professionals, inked a media partnership.

CNET Networks UK, the UK’s leading online-only publisher, becomes the exclusive media sponsor of Chinwag Live, monthly panel discussions with a topical focus founded to cast light on issues and trends across the new media sector. The informal evening events run by Chinwag attract a high-calibre audience and are formatted to maximise input from this dynamic community.

The deal will see Chinwag’s monthly Chinwag Live series promoted to readers of CNET Networks UK’s online publications for technology and business decision-makers – ( and ZDNet UK ( reaching a combined user base of nearly 3 million unique visitors each month*.

In turn, CNET Networks UK will receive promotion across the Chinwag Live website (, newsletters and live events themselves, reaching a broad swathe of new media professionals who exchange advice, recommendations and talent across the network of Chinwag media properties. CNET Networks UK also becomes the media sponsor of the podcasts produced at each of the Chinwag Live events.

The deal covers ten Chinwag Live events and podcasts in 2007 and promotion on the and ZDNet UK websites and newsletters in the run up to each event.
