the innocent village fête Monday 14 May 2007 PDF Print the innocent village fête Regent’s Park, London 4th – 5th August 2007 Remember sitting on the grass sipping home-made lemonade and tucking into a slice of Victoria sponge on a warm summer’s day? Remember trying to guess the weight of that huge marrow? We bet you can even remember the brass band playing in the background. Summer just wouldn’t be the same without a fête on the village green. So this year we’ve decided to hold our very own fête, the innocent village fête, right in the heart of London, in Regent’s Park on 4th and 5th August. Sticking with tradition, there’ll be wonderful food stalls including home-made cake stands and a farmers’ market, welly-wanging, tug-o-war and coconut shies, fruit and veg competitions, Morris dancers and lots of lovely bunting. There’ll also be plenty of other fun family activities for kids and grown ups alike including fancy dress, arts and crafts, a rest and relaxation area, free yoga lessons and massages, a knitting tent, and of course, lots of space to put down a rug and enjoy a family picnic. There’ll be plenty of smoothies to try too. More entertainment will be provided by local theatre groups, unplugged bands and comedy performances. So, whatever your age, whoever you come with, it’s the perfect way to spend a lazy summer’s day. the innocent village fête will be travelling around the country throughout June and July too. Watch this space for news of a fête near you. Fancy coming along? Keep checking www.innocentdrinks.co.uk for more information about the event and how to get tickets – they’ll be available soon.
