JML - Now neighbours with QVC Wednesday 16 May 2007 PDF Print JML purchases two new shopping channels Innovative consumer brand, JML, are excited to announce their purchase of two Sky EPG positions, channels 631 and 632. This places JML at the top of the shopping genre on the Sky platform, as direct neighbours to QVC. The purchase will see JML launching content on both channels from midnight on 28th May 2007. JML are well poised to take advantage of these acquisitions having recently moved their sales call centre to Belfast based AMA, a company with exceptional experience in DRTV. JML have also brought their fulfilment and DR customer services in-house over the last month. This operation is now running out of JML’s offices and warehouses based in Jarrow in the North East of England. This deal is a significant step for JML, and forms an important part of the strategy to boost their direct to consumer offering. JML will be running their own content on channel 631, and are transferring the existing name ‘JML Direct TV’ to this position. JML’s current channel, 657, will be retained and re-branded as ‘JML Extra’. As the flagship channel, 631 (JML Direct TV) will be promoting much of JML’s core range and will also boast a variety of brand new product offerings and show formats. JML have been investing heavily in increasing their infomercial production in several ways: JML have ramped up their infomercial production capacity by investing in a brand new production team who are set to produce 6 new infomercials this year. This is complemented by a close partnership with Kew Films who will also be producing a significant number of additional shows. JML are also teaming up with their retail partners to create some unique and exciting footage under the brand ‘JML Roadshow.’ This is in conjunction with John Russell Associates, a long time partner of JML. The new content is being built on a strong line up of new demonstrable products which have been sourced from all over the world. JML see their product development capabilities, unique marketing style, and strong brand as their key USPs in both their retail and direct to consumer businesses. Channel 632 will provide a very different offering, bringing the viewer a wide range of international content. This is being achieved through a JV with Reliant International Media Corp, based in St Petersburg, Florida. Reliant are experts in infomercial film production and run a large DR operation in the US.
