UK FAMILIES LEARN HOW TO HEAL THROUGH HOMEOPATHY Thursday 24 May 2007 PDF Print HOMEOPATHY AWARENESS WEEK 2007 14th-21st June National Homeopathy Awareness Week 2007 is proof of an ever-growing number of people seeking a natural way of treating their health. Latest research shows that two out of three consumers today either use complementary medicines (including homeopathy) or would consider doing so. This year’s campaign will focus on children’s health and how to use homeopathic remedies in treating everyday family ailments. To mark the week, Nelsons Pharmacy, London’s original homeopathic pharmacy, is holding a series of special consumer events to provide a valuable introduction to Healing Through Homeopathy. During Homeopathy Awareness Week, visitors will be able to learn about this natural system of healing, put their questions to leading practitioners and benefit from a free mini-consultation. Topics covered will include: • Thurs 14th June: Common ailments – from work-related stress to headaches and hangovers • Sat 16th June: First aid for the family – from cuts and bruises to travel sickness and sunburn • Tues 19th June: Children’s health - from colds and stomach upsets to warts and eczema All events will take place at Nelsons Homeopathic Pharmacy, 73 Duke Street, London W1K 5BY. Nelsons will also launch a new FREE guide for consumers called Healing Through Homeopathy. Written in association with Registered Homeopath Laura Kenyon LCH, RSHom, the guide will provide jargon-free, practical information and advice – ideal for everyone from the novice upwards: “Despite a growing interest in healing in natural ways, there are still many myths and misunderstandings around homeopathy out there today. This guide will answer all the most commonly asked questions, clear up any confusion, and be a practical keep-at-home source of homeopathic solutions for common ailments,” said Laura Kenyon when asked about her involvement in the project. Homeopathy has many high-profile supporters including HRH The Queen, Sir Paul McCartney and Jude Law - all whom have raised awareness of the benefits of healing through homeopathy by talking about their own experiences. Homeopathic remedies are now widely available and can be found in many good pharmacies and health food stores, and with changes in licensing regulations* meaning packaging can now include information about the conditions the product treats, homeopathy will be easier for the consumer than ever before. Spaces at Nelsons Pharmacy special events are limited and so pre-registration is essential. Places are free and can be registered online at: www.nelsonshp.com. A copy of the guide, Healing Through Homeopathy is also available on the same site. -Ends- Notes to Editors: Experts and case studies are available on request. The scheme allows companies to include information about the treatment and relief of minor, self-limiting conditions based on the use of the product within the homeopathic tradition. For example, labels may indicate that a product may relieve the symptoms of common colds and coughs, hay fever or chilblains. On announcement of the scheme’s introduction, Robert Wilson, Chairman of Nelsons, said: “This is welcome news for consumers and the industry as a whole. Until now, homeopathy has been relatively inaccessible to most people – only well-informed consumers would know what to buy and when. This new regulation will promote better understanding of homeopathic remedies and make it much easier for customers to self-select over-the-counter remedies for treatment of everyday ailments.” Issued by: Pegasus Public Relations On behalf of: Nelsons Press enquiries: Gemma Maxey Tel: (01903) 821550 Email: email@example.com Ref: 8016 May 2007 This press release was distributed by ResponseSource Press Release Wire on behalf of Pegasus Public Relations (Worthing) in the following categories: Children & Teenagers, Health, Women's Interest & Beauty, Environment & Nature, for more information visit http://pressreleasewire.responsesource.com/about.
