Coley Porter Bell is pleased to announce the launch of their SHINE 2007 award – a unique student initiative open to all 2nd year graphic design students graduating in 2008.

Students are required to submit one piece of work from their portfolio that they feel best showcases their unique talent – photocopies are acceptable. Competition in past years has been tough for the covetable prize of £3000 plus a 3 month paid work placement at Coley Porter Bell.

The SHINE 2007 call for entries poster is displayed at participating colleges and was designed by last year’s winner Christopher Andrew-Barrett from Kingston University. An original take on the SHINE concept, a photographic execution shows Christopher spray painted in all his shiny glory – which apparently lingered for quite a while after the shoot.

Short-listed candidates are invited to Coley Porter Bell to present their portfolios from which 10 finalists will be selected to design next year’s competition poster. The winner is announced at a reception held at the agency in the autumn. The judging panel includes Sophie Gallois, Marketing Director at Chivas Brothers, Stephen Bell, Creative Director at Coley Porter Bell and the Sponsorship Director at Dazed & Confused magazine.

SHINE, which first launched in April 2001, was created by Coley Porter Bell to search for the best and brightest new graphic design talent in the UK. SHINE 2007 will be supported by a nation-wide poster campaign targeting Colleges and Universities who offer graphic design degree courses.

Deadline for entries is 22nd June 2007 – details should be sent to;
SHINE 2007 c/o Coley Porter Bell, 18 Grosvenor Gardens, London SW1W 0DH
