Prior to joining speed-trap’s board of directors three years ago, Shingles had more than 40 years of multinational experience, all gained within high technology, rapid growth entrepreneurial environments. The early part of his career was with Digital Equipment Co. Limited. He held board level positions from 1968 and was Corporate Vice President for European operations, subsequently managing Digital’s business in 13 European countries. From 1983 until 1993 he was Chief Executive and Chairman of Digital Equipment Co. Limited, an organisation with a turnover in excess of £1billion. In 1987, after more than a quarter of a century in the IT industry, Geoff Shingles was awarded the CBE for Services to Information Technology. He is recognised as one of its founders. Commenting upon his new role as Chairman and CEO Shingles said: “Having been a member of speed-trap’s board for approximately three years, I’m fully aware and therefore very excited by the opportunity of guiding the Company forward, ensuring it realises its potential as a leading player in the e-business sector globally”. Elaborating Shingles continued: “The ongoing world-wide online market upturn, allied with the rapidly accelerating acceptance of speed-trap’s unique technology and business proposition places us in the vanguard of those that are now delivering the capability to drive major structural change in business and enabling significant growth opportunities. That said however, and as much as I am looking forward to my new role within speed-trap, it is sadly overshadowed by the sudden and unexpected death of Bill Brindle my friend and predecessor as Chairman and CEO. Bill was one of speed-trap’s founders and an inspiration to everyone. It is my intention to do all I can to ensure Bill’s great vision for speed-trap is realised.” About speed-trap speed-trap is the e-business intelligence company.
