Scarlet puts a reader on the cover Monday 25 June 2007 PDF Print Consumers want to see ‘real women’ in the pages of their favourite glossies, so the team at Scarlet are breaking with magazine cover tradition to do just that. The October issue of the magazine will be the first to feature a reader on its cover, proving that women don’t have to conform to model proportions to be sexy. “Scarlet magazine is already famous for telling it the way it is with a no-nonsense attitude to the issues that effect women today,” says editor, Sarah Hedley. “One of those issues is the representation of women in media, and Scarlet intends to tackle it.” Three readers will be selected to have a glam photo shoot with celebrity snappers Popstar Pictures and the best image will appear on the cover of the October issues. There are no size restrictions and no previous modelling experience is required. Entry forms for the competition are in the current issue of the magazine, which went on sale Thursday 21 June. Entries are already flooding in.
