Findus Announces New French Bread Pizzas

Findus Ltd. is adding new toppings to its much-loved French Bread Pizza product.

A family favourite for over 30 years these delicious pizzas are convenient and versatile, which is why they’re still a popular choice with families, students and anyone looking for an easy-to-prepare meal option or a hearty snack.

Findus’ Cheese & Tomato French Bread Pizza has stood the test of time but in September 2007 it is to be re-launched and the range extended, with a new pack design which highlights the product’s fantastic £1 price point.

The two new varieties that will be available alongside Cheese & Tomato are Ham & Pineapple and Pepperoni Supreme.

The ease of Findus French Bread Pizzas is part of their appeal, as they can be oven-cooked in less than 20 minutes and they can be enjoyed as a hand held snack, sliced and served as a finger food at parties or paired with salad.

And because Findus believe that an informed consumer is a healthier consumer it has also put information on what percentage of your Guideline Daily Amount (GDA) of fat, salt, sugar, saturated fat and calories the products contain on the front of the pack.

From Frozen Food to Famous Chefs & Farmed Cod – the Story of Findus Ltd. So Far
Findus has its origins in the Nordic region. In 1941, Marabou, a Swedish confectionery company acquired a small factory in the Northwest of Scania (Sweden) - with a brand called Findus.

In 1962, Marabou sold the Findus business to Nestlé, and it remained under Nestlé ownership until January 2000, when it was sold to EQT Scandinavia BV.

With a turnover of approximately EUR 800 million Findus has a presence in Norway, Sweden, Finland, UK, France, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Thailand and Australia, employing around 3,000 people.

In April 2005 ownership of Findus Ltd. was transferred from EQT, to the private ownership of Geir Frantzen, previously a senior manager at Swedish parent company Findus AB.

The company has recently launched a range of restaurant-quality ready meals, in association with Jean Christophe Novelli, and has also bought farmed Norwegian cod to the UK.
