InformationTV brings live streaming to Cube.TV platform - a2a Group PLC (Plus Markets – A2AO) Wednesday 4 July 2007 PDF Print a2a Group Plc is pleased to announce that InformationTV has joined the Cube.TV platform. InformationTV has traditionally been a platform for UK Government initiatives and education. InformationTV are the first client for Cube.TV that utilise a live stream from the Astra satellite. The satellite feed beams the TV broadcast content onto the UK DTH platform (Sky) and Cube.TV simultaneously. Cube.TV anticipates that this will be the first of many satellite-based broadcasters to join the platform as it moves to a TV-based measurement system. InformationTV was established to broadcast television for organisations who wish to reach a specific target audience, large or small, via digital satellite (BSkyB) and via the internet using broadband TV. The company operates two streams, the first allowing government departments and public bodies to communicate directly with those with whom they are interacting. The second stream allows would-be broadcasters to “start small”, by having regularly scheduled programmes in a “micro-channel” which they control. a2a Group PLC was founded in 2001, focusing on Red Button and PRTS consultancy. The company quickly won the opportunity to design, build and manage channel management systems for the TV Travel Shop channels. From this core the company has grown and developed the Cube.TV interactive broadband television platform. In early 2005 the company was backed by Tangent Industries LLC to put it at the forefront of the exciting IPTV market. June 2007 has seen the company enter into a business combination with Pink Sheets listed Petel Incorporated (PTEL.pk).
