Research Shows 75% Awareness of Internet Based Talent Management Tools, Yet 70% of Organisations Still Rely on Manual, Paper Systems Monday 9 July 2007 PDF Print Perception of Cost Cited as Major Barrier to Implementation – Only 21% of HR Managers Aware They Can Rent Software and Easily Configure Applications to Their Specific Needs London, UK – 9 July 2007 – Three quarters of UK HR managers are aware of internet-based talent management tools, yet 70% of UK organisations still depend on manual, paper-based systems, according to independent research commissioned by Qikker Solutions Ltd, a UK partner of SuccessFactors for e-HR Solutions. The vast majority of organisations still rely on a paper-based approach to various talent management processes, such as MS Word or Excel systems without a central database. Qikker Solutions commissioned independent research consultancy VMH Associates to survey a total of 67 HR managers, HR directors and HR board directors from both the public and private sector across the UK. One third of respondents were from organisations with a turnover in excess of £100 million. The perception of cost and upfront initial capital expenditure is cited as the major barrier to implementation of e-HR solutions. Fifty two percent of respondents surveyed believe they need to put aside capital expenditure to invest in e-HR.
