London, 11 July 2007 – Business solutions provider, Maconomy, today announced that Fulcrum Consulting, one of the leading international firms of consulting engineers, has purchased 100 user licences of its Maconomy X+ software. In addition to the project management, job costing, and resource and financial capabilities that come with Maconomy X+, Fulcrum will also be taking advantage of the additional functionality of CRM, Time on Time and AnalytiX reporting.

Fulcrum Consulting offers consultancy services to a wide range of markets, from mechanical and electrical engineering through to renewable energy. It has offices in London, Madrid, and Edinburgh, and with plans to expand to Bristol, Manchester and possibly China, it is vital that it has an efficient system in place to manage its business processes. Maconomy X+ will enable Fulcrum to do this by tracking individual projects, including the time and resources that are spent on them, ultimately helping to increase profitable projects.

Richard Shennan, Director at Fulcrum Consulting, said, “We met Maconomy at the MIPIM event. We were impressed by their clear commitment to, and knowledge of, our industry. Maconomy has experience of pan-European software projects and also a clear understanding of local fiscal requirements. The team demonstrated a clear understanding of our business dynamic and took the time to work with us to show how Maconomy X+ will allow us to automate a people business as well as reduce risk, whilst driving profitability. We also expect the new system to help us manage our entire business better. Choosing a system that could help us control the whole company was important and we believe the Maconomy Consulting Solution will help us optimise the performance across all business disciplines.”

Hugh Stafford-Smith, UK MD of Maconomy, commented, “Too many consultancies leave the management of their business to chance, relying on ad-hoc processes and systems. Fulcrum has demonstrated its commitment to delivering maximum value to its customers with the implementation of Maconomy X+. We believe that the software will be a great support to Fulcrum as it continues to grow and moves forward with its plans for expansion.”

Mr Shennan concludes, “We are confident Maconomy can meet our requirements now and into the future because its technology is built on a modern platform and delivered using the web. It has demonstrated to us how easy it is to add new business units and as we aim to grow our company both nationally and internationally, it is important that we are able to do this without the need to increase the number of our support staff.”

The implementation of the Maconomy X+ software is expected to start over the next two weeks and is expected to go live in October 2007.
