Live and Online Seminars Offer Insights from Experts on Latest Issues and Trends in Securing Infrastructure

London, UK, July 19, 2007 – (ISC)2® (“ISC-squared”), the non-profit global leader in educating and certifying information security professionals throughout their careers, today announced it is making its (ISC)2 Security Leadership Series one-day live events and half-day online seminars free to its 50,000-plus members worldwide. The Series is comprised of online (ISC)2 e-Symposia, available exclusively to (ISC)² members, and multiple- and one-day in-person events. The regular fee will apply to attendees of all multiple-day Security Leadership events and to non-members attending any Security Leadership event.

Launched in 2004, the (ISC)2 Security Leadership Series is a year-round information security education program encompassing live and online events that provide professionals key knowledge on emerging security issues from leading industry experts and interaction with their peers. The (ISC)2 e-Symposia are bi-monthly, half-day online seminars that allow participants to listen and interact live with top information security experts from the convenience of their computer at work or home. The next e-Symposium seminar is scheduled for August 21, 2007.

The 2007 fall Security Leadership Series will feature a dozen events, beginning in September with SecureDusseldorf in Germany and ending in early December with SecureSanJose in California. Topics for the fall series include crimeware, wireless security, homeland security, computer forensics and privacy/identity protection.

“To support our members’ career development and assist their efforts to protect infrastructure, we’re proud to bring them these compelling, free education opportunities,” said Ed Zeitler, CISSP, executive director for (ISC)2. “The Security Leadership Series also helps organisations, providing them the assurance that their (ISC)2-certified staff is regularly receiving the most up-to-date information on security best practices.”

(ISC)2-certified members can earn continuing professional education (CPE) credits toward maintaining their certifications by participating in the live and online Security Leadership seminars.

Perfect for professionals who may be too busy to attend an in-person event or for those members in remote areas, the e-Symposia include knowledge-sharing with colleagues via a dedicated forum. (ISC)2-certified members who miss an e-Symposium seminar can take advantage of the archived event and complete a quiz to earn CPE credits 72 hours after it concludes. The archive will remain active as long as the topic is relevant and useful.
