Brand-Rex unveils Data Centre range at Telecoms 07 Monday 30 July 2007 PDF Print Brand-Rex will be unveiling a range of new data centre grade connectivity products at Telecoms 07 London - 20th to 21st September 2007. Ken Hodge, a well-known figure in the industry and technical manager with Brand-Rex, will also present a paper on "High speed networks" at 10:30am on Friday 21st at the Telecoms 07 conference. He will provide insight into the various 10GbE options available for both copper and fibre - highlighting which configurations are permissible and what testing is essential in order to prove a 10GbE system for high reliability active-service. As a Company who closely follow the committees developing new applications and as a contributor to IEEE standards committees, Hodge will also explain what is happening on the new 40GbE and 100GbE standards already under discussion. On display at stand 35 will be the new Brand-Rex data centre patch panel which features an RJ-45 jack configuration which obviates the need for the use of standard horizontal cable management within the cabinet or frame. According to Hodge, the new patch panels retain the industry's preferred 24 ports per 1U of cabinet/rack space but, by not requiring a second 1U for cable management, they could effectively double the number of patching ports which can be deployed in a cabinet/rack without compromising accessibility or reliability. Using modular jacks, the new data centre patch panel is available in Category 5e, 6 and 6A and in UTP and STP variants. Next is a new fast-fit data centre modular fibre patch panel. This is a no-splice design based around pre-terminated fibre cables using MPO connector technology. The 1U fast-fit panel accepts three 12-pair fibre modules each of which has two MPO connectors to the rear (for the pre-terminated fibre cables) and presents these on the front as 12 LC-duplex fibre pairs. Hence the fast-fit panel has a density of 36 LC-duplex fibre pairs per 1U. The new panel is available for both multi-mode (where it is OM3 10Gigabit/s compatible) and single-mode variants. No data centre offering would be complete without 10 Gigabit/s Class EA performance products and so Brand-Rex will be exhibiting its 10GPLUS range of cabling and connectivity in both unshielded and shielded formats. To showcase the innovative 10GPLUS tool-less jack, Brand-Rex will be challenging installers to “beat the clock” at stand No 35 in 35 seconds or less to fully terminate a Category 6A UTP jack. Prizes will be given for the fastest termination each day. =ends= For further press information please contact: Phil Turtle on: 070 7470 7080 e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org Turtle Consulting Group Short version follows: Short version: Brand-Rex unveils Data Centre range at Telecoms 07 Stand 35 - Brand-Rex will be unveiling a range of new data centre grade connectivity products and technical manager Ken Hodge, will present a paper on "High speed networks" on Friday 21st at 10:30am.
