Unstoppable jockey Frankie Dettori is back in the running to be winner of a 6-cook race. The housewives’ favourite has been voted back by the public as “best loser” in a challenge to create a recipe that will become as popular with the British public as spaghetti bolognese from his Italian homeland. The only rule in the race is that the main ingredient must be British turkey!

Frankie, a patron of children’s medical charity SPARKS, beat three others who have already been voted off - Tv sports presenter Annabel Croft, also a patron of SPARKS, and two celebrity chefs - Lesley Waters and Nick Nairn.

His recipe for Rolled Turkey now goes head to head with a mild turkey curry from Matt Dawson and a dish of turkey and vegetables from TV chef Paul Rankin. You can vote for your favourite on www.britishturkey.co.uk.

TV chef Phil Vickery, who lined up all the celebrities in the race, said: “Frankie is a good mate of mine and it’s great to see him back. Sportsmen and women know turkey is an exceptionally healthy meat, in fact a superfood. The point of the Challenge is to get all us couch potatoes to also enjoy cooking and eating turkey outside the Christmas season. “

But if you think you are sitting at home and think you can do better, here’s your chance! Send your original British turkey recipe to www.britishturkey.co.uk to be in with a chance of winning a spa break for two. The charity SPARKS will then be a winner too with the British turkey industry donating cash for every recipe received.
