Thought Leaders Kick-Off Research of Predictive Models for Human Capital Management

SAN MATEO, Calif. – September 5, 2007 – SuccessFactors, the global leader in on-demand performance and talent management solutions, today announced the release of a new research report jointly authored by the SuccessFactors Research team and industry expert Dr. Jac Fitz-enz. The study, “Managing Tomorrow Today,” analyzes the impact of dynamic human capital management (HCM) strategies on overall business performance.

In this research study, Dr. Fitz-enz and Erik Berggren, global director of SuccessFactors Research, discuss the importance of leveraging strategic HR practices in today’s fast-changing business environment to drive organizational success. The report details the need for the development of predictive models of HCM by connecting workforce planning with business strategy, external factors and internal processes as well as the impact of employing such progressive, performance-oriented strategies across all areas of business.

The release of this study also marks the official launch of a yearlong research program in which Dr. Fitz-enz will explore and develop predictive models for human capital management and help companies worldwide better understand, translate and measure human capital investments into business success. Berggren and Dr. Fitz-enz have generated worldwide interest with their joint HCM research, resulting in speaking engagements in the U.S., Canada, Europe, China, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Thailand, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Malaysia and Russia.

“This report is a natural next-step after our exploration of HR metrics and analytical capabilities,” said Dr. Fitz-enz. “SuccessFactors Research is the perfect partner for this study as their excellent research team and real-time data create an unmatched resource for discovering the necessary insight to help companies develop more strategic HCM. SuccessFactors shares my belief that the key to driving business success is a strong focus on HCM and a commitment to making HR an important and critical element of every company.”

“In partnership with Dr. Jac, SuccessFactors Research continues to generate international interest in driving financial performance and business success through smart and adaptive HCM practices,” said Berggren. “SuccessFactors Research’s mission is to improve global productivity while creating a better place for people to work and equipping HCM practitioners with predictive capabilities is an important aspect in achieving that goal.”

Berggren and Dr. Fitz-enz present their findings from “Manage Tomorrow Today” in a webinar for the SuccessFactors Research Thought Leader Webinar Series.
