Interxion is the only carrier independent data centre provider to become a founding member of the Uptime Institute EMEA Network

London, September 5, 2007 - Interxion, the leading provider of carrier-neutral data centre and managed services in Europe, today announced that it has been invited to become a founding member of the Uptime Institute EMEA Network, which has established itself as one of the leading sources of information on Best Practices for data centre design, construction and management.

To address the increasing reliance on IT and network infrastructure, the exponential growth of data centre demand and deployment across Europe and to bring more industry-leading expertise to its members, the Uptime Institute has invited a selected group of Fortune 1,000 companies and Interxion, the only carrier independent data centre provider, to become founding members of its EMEA Network.

The Uptime Institute uses benchmarking, abnormal incident data, and industry Best Practices collected from members of its knowledge communities to translate uptime management into scientific disciplines and practices which can be confidently applied. The participants of the knowledge community are encouraged to learn from and share experiences with each other to provide continuing education in a new and exciting context. Knowledge community participation directly translates into reduced failure rates and increased organisational effectiveness.

Anthony Foy, Group Managing Director of Interxion, commented: “We are delighted to become a founding member of the Uptime Institute EMEA Network. With 22 data centres across Europe, we have built up extensive experience of data centre design, construction and management and we are happy to share our knowledge with others. With data centre industry developing so fast, we also welcome the Uptime Institute initiative to develop a European data centre classification system that recognises data centres for their technical specifications and operational excellence.“
