This year’s Autumn edition of eWorld Purchasing & Supply will open with a rare UK appearance from the world-renowned US-based Aberdeen Group plus special daily keynotes with Colonel Tim Collins

London, UK – Europe’s largest gathering of procurement and supply chain professionals, eWorld Purchasing & Supply takes place on 25th & 26th September 2007 at the New Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden, London. Organised twice a year in association with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), the event brings together over 600 senior executives from the commercial and public sectors, with responsibility for implementing electronic procurement, sourcing and supply chain strategies. Now in its 7th year, this important industry forum comprises an intensive programme of expert keynotes and educational seminars, presenting thought leadership and practical advice from both sides of the Atlantic.

> Daily Keynotes from The Aberdeen Group

The opening keynote session for both days of the event will be presented by Stephen Gold, President of the world-renowned Aberdeen Group. In a fascinating session entitled “Supply Management 3.0”, Stephen will offer a unique insight into the effects of globalisation, compliance pressures, supply market risk and procurement automation on global supply management. He will also explore ¬how procurement has been able to gain a seat at the executive table and explain why the board position of Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) is becoming increasingly common within all sizes of organisation.


> Colonel Tim Collins on Life & Death Procurement

After lunch on both days, CIPS’ special guest speaker will be Colonel Tim Collins OBE, the outspoken ex-British Army officer and veteran of Iraq. Colonel Collins will discuss the importance of effective procurement when human lives are at risk, including the need to build agility into supply chains so that they can remain robust in volatile conditions, and key lessons in leadership that can be translated directly to the corporate battlefield.
