Mapsolute, one of the world leaders in geographic software systems, has opened up the full version of its Map24 AJAX API 2.0 to software developers in the web community. The move means that software developers can use the full functionality and features of Map24 AJAX API 2.0 to integrate maps into web applications, all completely free of charge.

All functions are also available to the 10,000+ software developers worldwide who already use version 1.2 of the API.

As well as free access to dynamic map integration, address searching and route planning, developers can now make use of “MapTP Reverse Geocoding Service“.

This application returns relevant address information from Geo-coordinates, especially useful for all types of GPS-Tracking applications. Furthermore, it is now possible to alter the look and feel of the map dynamically when in use. For example, map colours can be changed to suit the corporate identity of a company. In addition it is possible to integrate real-time traffic information and specific RSS news feeds, called GeoRSS.

The use of the API functionality has also been simplified. It is now possible to integrate complex mapping applications into a web page, such as route planning, without extensive programming experience.
The Map24 AJAX API can be used on freely accessible, cost-free websites on the Web, such as all company home pages.

As well as this free Map24 AJAX API, commercial versions of the API can be purchased. These provide the developer with direct access to the powerful Map24 XML/SOAP Web Services – especially interesting for large Internet portals and software applications in the Logistics, Fleet Tracking, CRM systems and Call Centre fields.

The commercial version also enables the use and programming of mobile mapping solutions for mobile phones and so opens the door to the world of Mobile Mapping.

The powerful functionality is made possible through the company’s own MapTPTM technology. By utilising the MapTP-Vector system, maps are very dynamic and interactive in comparison to other products that rely on bitmap rendering technologies.

Developers have access to extensive documentation in the Mapsolute Developer Network at The Developer Network offers access to detailed information through manuals, tutorials, API-Documentation and FAQs not just for the Map24 AJAX API, but also for all additional Mapsolute programming tools for diverse programming languages such as JAVA, C++ and Delphi. Exchange of information by the developer community is handled in discussion forums, moderated by a 'Mapsolute Guru'. In the first 12 months since the start of the Mapsolute Developer Network, thousands of web developers have already registered.
