Paris, France - 12th September 2007 – Trivantis, a leading global provider of tools and services that enable its customers to create and manage eLearning content and multimedia communications, today announced its further expansion into the European market. It has opened an office in Paris to support the growing demand for its products in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The office will be headed by Simon Birt who is appointed as Regional Manager of Southern EMEA operations. Trivantis also announced plans to grow new channel partnerships to further sales of its flagship Lectora product, a leading eLearning authoring tool which is now available in multiple European languages.

Birt, 42, brings more than twenty years of international software sales expertise to his new role, including significant experience in building partner and reseller channels. His aim will be to support current resellers in their sales and market development activities and grow Trivantis’ EMEA business via the recruitment of new reseller partners.

“I am delighted that Simon has joined Trivantis and know that we will benefit from his multinational experience and outstanding track record,” said Andrew Nash, VP International Markets for Trivantis. “This move is a significant step on our path towards global growth, and follows on from the investments we have already made to internationalise our products and services and bring support closer to our global and international customers.”

The latest version of the company’s flagship product, Lectora 2007 is now available in multiple European languages including English, French, German, Swedish and Portuguese. Lectora is an easy-to-learn authoring software solution that enables users to create and publish powerful interactive training and multimedia materials. Trivantis also produces CourseMill, a leading learning management system that helps companies distribute, deliver, manage and track eLearning initiatives that are fully compliant with the latest eLearning standards.

“It’s an exciting time to be joining Trivantis,” said Birt. “The potential for Lectora is huge, because it puts the power to produce multimedia content straight into the hands of the subject matter experts – without them needing to draw upon expensive internal or external IT support to publish it online or on company intranets. With European companies becoming ever more conscious of the costs of training and communicating with staff in multiple locations and across borders, we think Lectora will have increasing appeal.”

Simon Birt, who is fluent in French, will be based in Paris. He comes to Trivantis from Digital Fuel Technologies, a leader in service level agreement (SLA) management software. As Director of Channel Partner Sales, he constructed a dynamic and productive channel there as well as a multi-million dollar pipeline within a few months. Following this success, he was asked to add direct sales to his remit with a similar level of success.

Prior to Digital Fuel, Birt was Director of European Sales for QAS, a leader in address management and data integrity software, where he rapidly built up international direct and channel sales revenues across Europe. Birt’s previous experience includes senior positions in international software sales and business development for the WiFi service provider Megabeam Networks (now part of Swisscom), Marimba Software (now part of BMC), and Oracle, among others.

Further information about Trivantis’ channel partner program will be announced in due course. Companies or resellers interested to learn more about Trivantis products are invited to contact Simon Birt at Trivantis Paris on +33 (0) 1 77 16 63 95.
