Visual Nexus announces upgrade to its Visual Collaboration Software
Introduces new application collaboration system and updates for improved Windows Vista Support

Guildford, UK. 5th October 2007 - Visual Nexus announces today the next release of its Visual Collaboration Solutions, V3.2-2. This new release introduce significant new capability, including the new VNC application sharing module, and improved support for both Microsoft Windows XP and Vista as well as Office 2007 applications. Aimed at medium and large enterprises, Visual Nexus is an affordable, secure and easy to use open standards visual collaboration solution, offering home workers and dispersed teams in organisations the ability to work together in face-to face-meetings, regardless of where they are located.

Visual Nexus Collaboration (VNC): This new application sharing feature enables distributed users in a face-to-face meeting to view and work on applications running on their Windows computers. The software has been developed in co-operation with Real VNC of Cambridge, England and is based on the well established VNC sharing technology. For secure operation Visual Nexus Collaboration does not support desktop sharing. VNC supports application sharing in both peer-to-peer and multi-party meetings and participants in a meeting may have multiple applications shared at the same time. VNC application sharing can be used alongside the other data collaboration tools provided in Visual Nexus. VNC replaces the previous T.120 application sharing module provided in earlier versions of Visual Nexus and introduces new levels of flexibility, scalability and usability.

The introduction of VNC as a part of the Visual Nexus solution means that users can now select from five different data and application sharing modes, within a single meeting, to provide the most productive meeting environment. These five collaboration modes are (i) VN Data Sharing for sharing Microsoft Office documents and presentations, (ii) H.239 data sharing for interoperability with video conferencing systems, (iii) in meeting video and image streaming, (iv) VNC application collaboration and (v) text and instant messaging.

System Updates: In addition to the new capability described above, the new release of the software introduces other improvements to the performance and functionality of the product. These includes a significant enhancement to the H.239 data sharing module to provide selectable image size, automatic bandwidth usage controls and improved scaling for larger meetings. In addition a new H.264 video codec, providing improved image quality while using less CPU resource at the client endpoint, is also now available.

The added functionally in the new 3.2-2 version of the Meeting Server is available for immediate shipment and prices remain unchanged, with a ten port meeting server with software endpoint clients still being priced at around £9,000.
