This Sunday, October 14th, the Legends Charity Cup final will take place at the David Beckham Academy in London. Teams from across the UK will take part to raise money for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity.

Winners of the final will ultimately face the Legends team including Graeme Le Saux, Kerry Dixon, David Lee and Clive Walker in the last match of the day. The Legends Charity Cup regional heats took place across the country earlier this month with a total of seventeen teams qualifying for the final in London.

The money raised from the Legends Charity Cup will be used by CLIC Sargent to continue caring for children and young people affected by cancer or leukaemia. As well as funding frontline care professionals, support in the home and holiday services, CLIC Sargent also provides financial grants to help cover the increased costs that families face when their child has cancer.

“We’re offering amateur footballers the chance of a lifetime to test their skills against some of Britain’s finest players,” says Danny Burke, organiser of the Legends Charity Cup. “It’s a unique opportunity for these players to become heroes on and off the pitch as they raise money for children with cancer.”

“The competition to get through to the final will be fierce so we’re expecting to see some great football. Spectators are more than welcome to come along and cheer on the teams on Sunday.”
