SmartLine Joins SanDisk Enterprise Solutions Technology Alliance

Customers benefit from greater compatibility and interoperability between endpoint security solutions

London, 15 October 2007 – SmartLine Inc, a worldwide leader in endpoint device control security, has become one of the first members of the SanDisk® Enterprise Solutions Technology Alliance (SESTA) program. SESTA ( supports compatibility testing of ISV (independent software vendor) products with SanDisk’s secure portable solutions, and the development of strategic and technology alliances with SanDisk. As a result, customers will benefit from more complete, affordable endpoint security solutions to protect confidential company data.

The widespread and uncontrolled use of large-capacity removable storage devices is becoming a critical risk for corporate IT security. To protect highly-sensitive or classified information, organisations are deploying complex endpoint security solutions using tools from multiple vendors, and they are demanding that products work together seamlessly. Established in response to this demand, SESTA delivers higher value security solutions to corporate customers, while minimising their IT security management and administration overhead.

SmartLine’s membership of SESTA is the latest step in the two companies’ coordinated effort to ensure the full compatibility of SmartLine’s DeviceLock® software product suite with SanDisk’s encrypted USB drives, including the recently released Cruzer® Enterprise devices.

Featuring a comprehensive central management platform fully integrated with Microsoft Active Directory®, DeviceLock enables security administrators to control, online monitor, shadow-copy, log, and analyse end-user access to all types of devices and local ports on personal computers, as well as automatically block the operation of any hardware keyloggers.

Cruzer Enterprise is a high-speed USB flash drive that delivers strong security to medium and large organisations requiring comprehensive policy enforcement, central management and regulatory compliance. Cruzer Enterprise features mandatory password protection and enforces data security through hardware-based 256-bit AES encryption for the entire drive, so all files are encrypted if the drive is lost or stolen.

“With its many corporate customers from security-sensitive industries worldwide and recognised leadership in endpoint device control technologies, SmartLine is a great addition to our Alliance,” said Ella Taran Katz, Director of Business Development, Enterprise Division, at SanDisk. “We are also delighted with SmartLine’s fast response to our requirements. Our common customers will immediately benefit from the streamlined intercommunication between our companies.”

“Our membership in the SanDisk Enterprise Solutions Technology Alliance reaffirms SmartLine’s strong commitment to customer support and service excellence,” said Ashot Oganesyan, SmartLine Founder and CTO. “Complementary endpoint security technologies and products are going to converge into combined solutions in the emerging endpoint security market. SanDisk, an international leader in personal storage devices and secure portable solutions, is a great partner to have in delivering such solutions. Our membership of SESTA creates for real opportunities for a stronger technological alliance with SanDisk, which would benefit all our customers.”
