AIIM Launches New Online and Classroom Training for BPM and Findability Tuesday 16 October 2007 PDF Print AIIM, the Enterprise Content Management Association, has announced the expansion of its certificate training programme to include two new programmes for Business Process Management and Information Organisation & Access. These new programmes will provide organisations with the skills and knowledge to improve their business processes and optimise enterprise search and findability. Online courses are now available at www.aiim.eu/education. "The huge success of our first two certificate programmes - on Electronic Records Management and Enterprise Content Management - led us to look at related certificate programmes that would help end-users make smart information management decisions," notes AIIM President John Mancini. "Over 4,200 course attendees have been through our programmes in the first 18 months of operation, making AIIM the leading provider of end-user education on records management and document management in the world." Each AIIM Certificate training programme consists of Practitioner, Specialist and Master levels across four programmes - Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Electronic Records Management (ERM), Business Process Management (BPM) and Information Organisation & Access (IOA). The Master level involves a 4-day classroom course and an assessed study. Dates and locations are listed on the AIIM website, www.aiim.eu/education. In-house courses are also available. "People enrol on the AIIM courses to get a good understanding of technologies, methodologies and global best practices for managing information and business processes, but also to get the highly respected AIIM Practitioner, Specialist and Master designations," states Hanns Köhler-Krüner, AIIM’s Director of Education Services for EMEA. The BPM programme offers strategic and practical knowledge for building a business case, process and information governance, business analysis, BPM architecture and technologies, collaboration and the role of ECM in business process management. The IOA programme covers content audits and inventories, search tools and techniques, taxonomies, metadata, document and content modelling, the user experience of information access, information organisation standards and findability. The two new programmes were developed by CMS Watch in conjunction with AIIM's Education Advisory Group which includes such organisations as Accenture, BearingPoint, Fujitsu, GlaxoSmithKline, IBM, Royal Mail, The National Archives of the United Kingdom, US Department of Treasury and Virgin Media.
