Huge demand expected for Breitling watches on sale in Birmingham

A Birmingham auctioneer is expecting huge demand for some Breitling watches it is putting up for sale later this month.

Fellows & Sons has a specialist wrist and pocket watches sale on Monday 22nd October 2007, starting at 11am.

Of the 472 items listed, two of them are complete Breitlings in good condition.

Managing partner Stephen Whittaker explained: “Breitling is one of the best watch brands in the world. They are well known for their quality and collectability. So when they come up for sale at auction there is a lot of interest.”

The sale is happening at Fellows’ modern auction rooms in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, UK.

Because Fellows has invested heavily in auction sale technology, anyone anywhere in the world can listen to the sale and make bids online.

The Breitling watches for sale are:

• An automatic Chronometre Navitimer wrist watch.(Illustrated) The black dial has three silvered subsidiary dials, baton markers and the date in the 5 o’clock position. There are outer mph and km tracks and a bi-directional rotating bezel. The watch is fitted to a Breitling leather strap and pin buckle. It comes with case and papers, and is valued at £1,000 to £1,500

• A gentleman’s 1997 stainless steel automatic II wrist watch. It has a white dial with silver tone Arabic numerals and luminescent hands. The date appears in the 3 o’clock position. It has a steel Breitling bracelet with a flip lock clasp. The watch also comes with its presentation box, instruction book and warranty. Fellows have valued this watch between £300 and £400

There are also a number of Breitling parts for sale, mostly for repair purposes. There are many other antique watches up for auction on the same day.
