TRIM Context electronic document and records management (EDRM) system to improve information management

Wokingham, Berkshire – 22 October 2007 – TOWER Software, the leading enterprise content management company, today announces that the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is to improve its information management practices with the deployment of a TRIM Context EDRM system to 3,400 users across 28 office locations. LogicaCMG will incorporate this implementation as part of its 10 year outsourcing agreement with HSE and will simultaneously undertake an enterprise migration to Microsoft Office 2003 and Outlook that will encompass all text-based files, including e-mail.

Richard Lewis, Head of Information Management at HSE explains: “Whilst we are very mindful of the e-government agendas and compliance requirements, this EDRM project has been driven by a desire to manage information better across HSE. The rising popularity of desktop tools has led us further away from print and a traditional records management culture. As a consequence, information silos had started to appear. TRIM Context will allow users to find the information they’re looking for far more easily and derive intelligence from it. It will also help us handle the large volume of incoming Freedom of Information (FoI) enquiries we receive.”

The system is already in use by around 3000 users at HSE’s headquarters locations in London and Bootle, and in field offices across the UK. Completion of roll-out to 29 sites in total is scheduled for November 2007.
