Leapfrogg has joined forces with the UK’s national news agency, The Press Association (PA), to become one of the first search engine marketing companies in the UK to offer tailored newsfeeds to its clients’ websites.

By combining Leapfrogg's expertise in search engine optimisation (SEO) and PA's proficiency in providing the very latest news, the service will deliver bespoke newsfeeds to Leapfrogg’s clients’ sites each day. Most important of all, the news is relevant to the clients’ industry and tailored to the individual company.

This dynamic service ensures sites remain fresh and unique, furthermore increasing the number of new visitors and encouraging repeat visits. In turn, the service aids online brand development as customers come to know and trust that the latest industry developments can be obtained by visiting the site.

By linking the feed to a site’s most profitable pages, users are also encouraged to remain on the site for longer to explore the products or services.

Clients’ staff will also be kept one step ahead as the newsfeed on a company intranet site will allow them to stay informed about industry developments. Better still, as the creation of content is managed entirely by PA’s news-gathering experts, staff will have more time, and budget, to concentrate on other business activities.

So how does the tailored newsfeed service work? SelectNews from PA Business works with Leapfrogg's clients to define their specific requirements and devise a tailored news brief. This in-depth brief will then inform a customised news service, which is compiled and delivered by dedicated PA editors at regular intervals throughout the day by ftp or email. Content can even be tagged by topic or keyword and links to internal or external site pages can also be built into the feed.

Simon Boynton, acting Managing Director of PA Business, said Leapfrogg's association with SelectNews was already proving a huge benefit to the bespoke news service.

"Their technical proficiency in SEO thoroughly complements our own expertise in producing content of the highest quality," said Simon. "We've already worked with them to maximise the value of the health news we produce for the website, so we're really looking forward to cementing our relationship with them with similar projects in the future."

Ben Potter, Sales Director at Leapfrogg, said: “Regularly updated, fresh content is integral in keeping the target audience interested and therefore returning to a site over and over again. In addition, it is an aid to search engine rankings as search engines like nothing better than fresh, unique content.

“The service delivered by PA is second to none in offering a cost effective means of delivering up-to-date, relevant and most importantly unique news content. We are pleased to be able to offer this service to our clients, which will complement their search marketing campaigns.”
