Sana Partners with ID Theft Protect to Improve Online ID security

London, UK – 1 November, 2007 – Sana Security, Inc., the leading behavioural security company, today announced a partnership with identity assurance expert, ID Theft Protect. The strategic alliance offers new and existing customers an exclusive anti-malware solution that helps consumers protect their online identity.

Based in Peterborough, ID Theft Protect provides an online advisory service, which helps individuals understand how best to keep their identities secure. Under the terms of the deal, Sana’s Primary Response SafeConnect product will be available under the white label ID Theft Guard, through an exclusive download from the ID Theft Protect website. The product is available for only £15.99 per year.

ID Theft Protect Guard protects users by automatically detecting and safely removing known and unknown malicious software before it can do any harm, avoiding the need for user intervention. As new threats continue to evolve in quantity and complexity, consumers need to take charge and incorporate security measures to keep their identity safe. Unlike traditional desktop security products, ID Theft Protect Guard shields the user from ordinary maintenance and administrative tasks while radically improving the security of their system, ensuring the maximum effectiveness in eliminating malware threats without the need to obtain signature updates, run full system scans or perform other tasks.

Julian Evans, founder, ID Theft Protect, commented, “We are delighted to be partnering with Sana Security as we feel it offers something truly unique in the marketplace. It enables us to move to a new level of customer service, from advice based to proactive identity theft prevention – which is an industry first collaboration in the UK.”

“A recent independent cybercrime report by Garlik revealed that there were 92,000 cases of online identity fraud in the UK last year. Given this very real threat, it is no surprise that the UK market is bursting with companies claiming they protect your identity, but this is far from the truth. Most of the big credit companies are scare- mongering through clever advertising campaigns with flimsy promises, whilst at the same time raising their insurance premiums so their customer thinks they are safe from identity fraud. Many people find it hard to grasp how to prevent identity fraud, as there’s much more to it than anti-virus and shredders.”

Peter Baxter, General Manager, EMEA, Sana Security said: “Considering the rapid rise in identity theft in the UK, the move to partner with ID Theft Protect makes perfect sense. This partnership is very important to us, as ID Theft Protect is making considerable headway in educating consumers in the best ways to protect their identities. With our anti-malware technology central to this relationship, this alliance will enable consumers to feel even more confident when they shop, bank and socialise online.”
