From small acorns, NetOp celebrates its first year of success Thursday 8 November 2007 PDF Print Reading, UK. 8 November, 2007; NetOp Tech Ltd, the UK subsidiary of Danish software developer Danware, is celebrating its first year of operation with a number of major business successes. Since launching from its UK base in Reading in October 2006, NetOp has experienced four straight quarters of growth, with total turnover nearing £1 million and a staff count of 9. The company, which develops and distributes software based on remote control technology through its partner network, has already invested more than £1 million into its channel within the first 12 months of operation. Although NetOp has had a presence in the UK for 20 years, it took the plunge and opened an office in the UK one year ago to better support the channel, and achieve its ambitious growth targets. Mike Kibblewhite, Managing Director of NetOp said; “The team here is very proud of what NetOp has achieved in such a short period of time – and rightly so. It’s been a rollercoster year of rapidly building our channel, bringing the best staff on board, and ensuring our products are market leading. We’ve ticked the box on all counts and are currently looking for a record quarter to finish off the year.” From a base of just one, NetOp now has 32 partners - including Sigma Software Distribution, BNS Distribution and Bluebeam Security - and has been shortlisted for ‘Specialist Vendor of the Year’ at the CRN channel awards. Malcolm Gardner, Director of Bluebeam Security commented; “For us as a growing reseller, our association with NetOp is brilliant. They want to grow, in terms of size, quality and product and they really seem to want to take their resellers and customers along with them”. Part of NetOp’s success this year has been its drive to work substantially closer with end users, as well as signing new customers. Clive Larkin, Head of Sales at Sigma Software Distribution added; “We always look to partner with vendors that extend our reach, provide high quality solutions, reflect our knowledge and experience, while adding value to our customer base. We’ve done just that with NetOp.” NetOp has a highly experienced team of 9 in place and is looking to further expand through the recruitment of industry specialists. This ties into NetOp’s strategy which is to continue focusing it’s ambitious growth efforts on vertical UK markets, including education, government, finance, corporate and retail. To support this, NetOp has a series of new product releases taking place over the coming months, including NetOp School, NetOp Remote Control, NetOp Mobile and Embedded and NetOp Process Control. Further investment is seeing the company expand its operations to include markets in Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, where demand for remote control software is high. - Ends - About NetOp NetOp Tech Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Danware A/S, which develops and markets software based on NetOp technology.
