Communicating and tracking onsite issues in real time is no longer a thing of the future. It’s here and now and being used at a Reed Exhibitions event near you. The need to communicate information as quickly as possible is critical when it comes to resolving issues effectively and providing the highest levels of customer service.

Despite everyone’s best efforts there will always be some issues which arise onsite. The current process in most exhibitions is that Organisers staff or Exhibitors log problems with suppliers at their service desks. Walking to and queuing at the desk can be time consuming and is generally inconvenient. Once the issue is logged, the exhibitor has to have faith in the organiser and supplier that the issue will be resolved and getting updates on the exact status of the issue can be equally inconvenient. Information on site issues is also rarely in a format that that can be retained and analysed post show.

As a result Reed Exhibitions and mobile application provider TAAP have developed OnTAAP ExMan, a fully live system for reporting and tracking exhibitor issues in real-time, consistent with Reed’s customer focused approach to onsite show delivery.

The system has both handheld Pocket PC PDA and standard PC interfaces so that it can be used in site offices and by mobile staff anywhere on the show floor. The organiser and principle suppliers are all connected to the system so that the status and history of every issue is accessible to every user in real-time.

The system works on a GPRS network meaning that it is not reliant on any venue or supplier network and is fully portable worldwide.

TAAP provides a fully managed service and pre-show data for exhibitor stand details and pre-show orders are all uploaded into the system from either Reed’s online exhibitor manual or direct from suppliers. The system has been used with tangible benefits on some of Reed’s largest shows like The London Book Fair and OE this year.
