The Embedded Systems Show 2007 (ESS 07) delivered outstanding results for suppliers to the embedded system design community with a 83 percent of attendees influenced to make one or more purchases, from embedded silicon, systems software and software, through to board-level products. The show also experienced a record-breaking rise in exhibitor numbers. With a 34 percent increase on last year, exhibitors provided visitors with a wider array of embedded products and services than ever before.

ESS 07 attracted a healthy 98 exhibitors and over 2000 attendees exceeded expectations. Exhibitors reported strong leads and valuable contacts throughout the two-day event. Alongside the main exhibition, the Technical Conference, organised in association with the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), offered a strong line up of expert speakers and solution providers who spoke about the challenges facing system designers and provided a balanced overview of practical solutions.

Chris Hills, Technical Specialist for Phaedrus Systems Ltd, says: “ESS 07 was bigger and better than ever. It is the premier show for the UK embedded industry and is very cost effective. No UK embedded event attracts a bigger number of attendees or exhibitors so it’s the best place to catch up and network. The technical conference is first class. It goes without saying that Phaedrus Systems will be back next year.”

Karl Miles, Sales Manager, Goepel Electronics Ltd, comments: “ESS was yet again a successful show with lots of good quality visitors; one company visited our stand on the first day, then rang during the second day to arrange a meeting. We had significant interest in our Boundary Scan, Automotive and Visual Inspection (TOM) products. We will definitely be back again next year.”

Andrew Porter, ESS exhibition director, says: “The 2007 Embedded Systems Show experienced another great year of visitor and exhibitor attendance with survey data showing that an impressive 83 percent of visitors purchased products that they came into contact with at the show. The ESS events team has received tremendous feedback - a very valuable and appreciated endorsement to the quality and impact of this year’s show. We have already taken numerous bookings for ESS 08.”

Embedded Systems Show 2007 was sponsored by Green Hills and took place on 17 and 18 October at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
