It’s a wake up call to anyone with glasses or contact lenses who has ever dreamed of having clear vision.

Dreamvision lenses from Scrivens Opticians are worn overnight but removed the following morning. They gently mould the shape of the cornea while the wearer sleeps, resulting in clear and unaided vision throughout the day.

The process is non surgical, painless, safe and reversible, making it a viable alternative to laser surgery. It also offers excellent vision correction for short sighted people, while the monthly cost is similar in price to wearing a pair of quality daily disposable contact lenses.

Adam Devey, marketing manager for Scrivens, said: “Customers who have tried Dreamvision have been amazed at the speed of the results. Even after the first night, the lenses give remarkable vision correction and the user then has freedom from wearing spectacles or contact lenses for the rest of the day.”

Each Dreamvision lens is made specifically for the individual as no two people’s eyes are the same. Dreamvision is only available through Scrivens. Branch details can be found online at or by calling 0800 0270511.

Fact file:

- The cornea is highly elastic and Dreamvision lenses mould it to correct or reduce short-sightedness and astigmatism of the eye. Treatment is suitable for those with the following degrees of short-sightedness:

- Spherical spectacle prescription of 0-75D up to -4.50D

- Astigmatism of up to -1.50D

- Freedom from wearing glasses or lenses is ideal for those involved in recreational, sports and leisure activities. In particular, outdoor pursuits or contact sports are a real plus, including skiing and snowboarding, golf, swimming, football, rugby and cricket

- Dreamvision can also help contact lens wearers who experience discomfort in dry atmospheres, including at work where they could be staring at a computer screen, or in windy conditions

- Costs include new lenses every six months to ensure they are providing optimum vision correction, cleaning solutions plus all aftercare from Dreamvision specialists

- The treatment is quickly reversible. If the wearer wants to stop using Dreamvision lenses the eye will return to its original shape. They will then need to revert to normal contact lenses or spectacles to see clearly again
