Ambition 24hours has launched an SMS mobile phone job-alert texting service for its 13,500 registered nurses and care workers in the UK to notify them immediately when a suitable local staff vacancy becomes available, matched to their qualifications, experience and availability.

Ambition 24hours was one of the first UK agencies to offer a 24-7 service, 365 days of the year, and specialises in filling vacancies at short notice - often within an hour of notification by the public and private healthcare providers that use its services. The agency has 15 branches nationwide for registrations and a central service centre.

The SMS mobile phone job alert is the latest development in Ambition 24hours’ £1.5 million Enterprise IT development project. The new facility enables the agency’s consultants, when notified of a client’s staffing needs, to interrogate the Enterprise system and its database of registered and accredited staff for details of suitably qualified and available candidates - those in closest proximity to the client location and with the most recent experience of working successfully at the client’s premises. Selected staff can reply to the SMS text by simply phoning in for further details.

All staff registered by Ambition 24hours undergo detailed checking of their employment credentials. The agency recently successfully completed the latest inspection of policies and procedures by CSCI (Commission for Social Care Inspection). This is the Government-appointed body that registers, inspects and reports on social care services in England.

Ambition 24hours, founded by Penny Streeter OBE, has also extended its range of training courses through its nationwide academy to enable nurses and care assistants to maintain current skills and gain new qualifications for the care of the sick, elderly and other vulnerable people.
