TR Control Solutions Ltd Selected as One of Three Winners in Microsoft’s Ingenuity Point Contest

eco|Driver Solution Takes Top Award in Education Category

Today, TR Control Solutions Ltd announced that its eco|Driver solution has been selected as a winner of Microsoft Corp.’s Ingenuity Point Contest, a worldwide competition for independent software vendors (ISVs) that recognizes solutions built on Microsoft technology with the potential to drive positive change in the areas of education, healthcare and environmental sustainability. eco|Driver, an energy monitoring and sustainability system for schools, is the winner in the Education category.

“We are thrilled to win this award, a further endorsement of the importance of educating the next generation of the need to combat one of the world’s most pressing problems, climate change”, said John Taylor, Managing Director of TR Control Solutions Ltd.

eco|Driver captures and analyses electricity, water, gas and renewable energy sources, reporting CO2 emissions, cost and consumption data in half hourly intervals. Teachers, students and the wider community can see the impact of their efforts to reduce wastage, on real-time displays and run reports to help manage their carbon footprint. By providing teachers with lesson plans using sustainability data, eco|Driver helps teachers engage pupils and gives a greater relevance to their studies with “real-life” scenarios.

“Microsoft is inspired by the incredible work and passion demonstrated by the ISVs in building solutions that have a far-reaching impact in education, healthcare and the environment,” said Rob Bernard, chief environmental strategist and former general manager of the Worldwide ISV Group at Microsoft. “We are pleased to recognize TR Control Solutions as an ISV leading the field of innovative software solutions in the Education category.”

TR Control Solutions Ltd, a Surrey based company, was established in 2003, and has expertise in Sustainability Solutions and Process Control.

TR Control Solutions Ltd and the winners in the other two categories make up the first-round grand prize recipients of the yearlong competition and will be joined by an additional three grand prize winners to be announced after the second round of judging ends on Feb. 28, 2008. The six vertical winners selected in both award rounds are eligible to be chosen as the Platinum Ingenuity Point Award winner in spring 2008. Platinum Award winners will receive additional marketing support from Microsoft, as well as a coveted guest judge position at the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2008 competition to be held in Paris.
