Expro Introduces EasyVista Around The Globe Thursday 10 January 2008 PDF Print • Staff&Line UK signs a large deal with Expro to install its market leading IT management solution, EasyVista 2007, across 50 countries worldwide. St Albans, UK, 10 January 2008: Staff&Line UK, the UK division of one of the leading publishers of IT Management Software Solutions, certified by Pink Elephant as ITIL compatible has won a new contract with Expro, leaders in Well Flow Management. Staff&Line was selected over and above 3 other competitor products. Expro provides services and products that measure, improve, control and process flow from oil and gas wells. A FTSE 250 company, Expro operates in over 50 countries, with 4,000 employees. It has over 100 sites around the world, with its Head Office situated in Reading and its biggest operational base located in Aberdeen. Expro is in the process of implementing EasyVista 2007, and is just about to embark on the installation phase with the support of Staff&Line UK who is also providing a number of training days as part of the installation package. EasyVista will host Expro’s worldwide support centres, including its main support facilities located in Aberdeen, Houston and Kuala Lumpur. Expro plans to have EasyVista fully implemented by the end of January. Expro’s previous external helpdesk tool was a product from BMC, known as, Magic, which they had been using for the last five years, and it primarily supported Expro’s European operations. In August 2006, Expro acquired PowerWell Services which dramatically increased the size of the company. This meant that it now had a large presence in the US and needed to extend its helpdesk operation to provide a 24/5 service to handle calls worldwide. PowerWell was using a system called Triactive, but neither Triactive nor Magic could match up to Expro’s needs. Expro’s IT management team held an operations workshop in April 2007 with a number of support staff to outline the key requirements that they needed their Service Desk to cover. An RFI document was drawn up and sent to 12 vendors. With the use of a scoring system this number was brought down to 6 and then a further 4. These 4 vendors were asked to come and demo their products and two really stood out – one being EasyVista 2007. “We finally chose EasyVista because we were primarily looking for a hosted model. Whilst the other vendor had these capabilities, the product was still in its infancy” said Martin Ogden, Head of Infrastructure and Operations Support at Expro. “In addition, there were the commercial considerations and EasyVista was very competitively priced. And finally, talking to my managers, Staff&Line seemed to be an easier organisation to work with. From a technical perspective, they knew their product a lot better than any of the other companies.” EasyVista is Staff&Line’s market-leading third generation IT Management solution that has been ITIL® designed from the ground up. It is a fully integrated suite with modules covering the entire life cycle of IT assets, including: asset management, incident and problem management, change management, configuration management (CMDB), inventory, portals for users and software distribution. The software is an easy-to-deploy, easy-to-use, low cost product, offering a complete service solution to users at any level. “Expro is one of numerous deals Staff&Line has secured since EasyVista’s launch in April 2007. Others include Moss Bros, Azzurri and a leading cosmetic brand, highlighting it as a ‘true’ player in the market,” said Gregory Lefort, Managing Director at Staff&Line UK. “With Expro being a FTSE 250 company, this is very encouraging for the future of EasyVista and Staff&Line.” - Ends - About Staff&Line: Since its creation in 1988, the company has positioned itself as a specialist in the IT management market.
