Electronic document and records management(EDRM) software vendor heralds aggressive European expansion plans with appointment of ex-Distillery Group CEO, David Oates

Wokingham, Berkshire – 15th January 2008 – Leading EDRM company TOWER Software, today announces further European expansion plans with the appointment of ex-Distillery Group CEO, David Oates as its Vice President (VP) for EMEA. A noted business leader and motivator of people, Oates is based at the Company’s European headquarters in Wokingham.

According to TOWER Software, Oates’ previous tenure as VP of International at project, portfolio and resource management software organisation Primavera Inc makes him well-placed to drive TOWER Software’s continued growth across Europe. The Company has a growing portfolio of European customers, particularly in The Nordics and The Netherlands. As Oates explains, “Issues such as e-discovery, compliance and data security are fast moving to the forefront in Europe. Organisations have an urgent requirement for EDRM solutions such as TRIM Context to ensure the accurate and timely access of information to ease litigation.”

Oates was also previously Sales and Marketing Director at Xchanging, and VP for EMEA at Moai Technologies. He reports to Executive Vice President for TOWER Software across the Northern Hemisphere, Tony Sumpster, who says “My experience of working with David is that he is an excellent individual and a great communicator. This, coupled by his strong vision will lead us into 2008 and beyond. He will be instrumental in further strengthening our strategic channel and technology partnerships and driving the delivery of vital information management solutions to customers.”
