UKHousemart are proud to announce Shelter Cymru to be their inaugural Charity of the Year.

UKHousemart is a company offering a property selling and buying service online. Rather than operating on the usual commission basis UKHousemart works on a fixed fee with prices starting from £59. With an administrative base in North Wales the company is geared up to spread all over the UK.

Mark McAllister, Managing Director of UKHousemart said "We believe that people are paying too much to buy and sell their home. Commission based estate agents are not giving the consumer value for money. People need to know that by selling their homes themselves on UKHousemart they will save thousands of pounds".

With over 75% of people now using the internet to locate a new home we believe UKHousemart's service will grow and grow.

For many owning or keeping their own home is a significant problem in Wales and for that reason UKHousemart have nominated Shelter Cymru to be their very first Charity of the Year. For every property advertised on, UKHousemart will donate £1 to Shelter Cymru and help to reduce the amount of people sleeping rough in Wales."

Andrew Jones Fundraising Manager for Shelter Cymru said "We are very pleased to have been chosen as UKHousemart's very first charity of the year. We would like to wish Mark and his team all the very best with their new business. Technology has changed many aspects of our lives and buying a home is the most significant purchase we are likely to make so it is not surprising that people are using the internet in their search."
