Britain Urged to Cut Consumption of Saturated Fats Wednesday 6 February 2008 PDF Print The UK’s Food Standards Agency (FSA) has said it is worried about the amount of saturated fats in our diet because of its close links to heart disease. The FSA claims that saturated fat consumption is too high across all social groups by roughly 20%. It is calling on consumers to become more aware of the fat in their diet as a matter of urgency and to limit the amount they have, especially saturated fats. A new survey from LIPObind has found that this concern is echoed by the British public - two thirds of people are worried about the amount of fat they consume each day. And we are right to worry - the British diet is comprised of 34% fat on average whereas the recommended daily intake is just 20g, and more than half of all adults in the UK are now either overweight or obese. • But how much fat is the right amount and how much is simply too much? • What does this ‘look like’ when you’re planning your meals, eating out or shopping in the supermarket? • What is ‘good’ fat and how can we increase it in our diets? • What is ‘bad’ fat and how can we decrease it in our diets? Respected diet & fitness expert Joanna Hall has the answer to all these questions, and has developed easy to follow top tips on how to control fat in our diet as part of her work with natural weight management supplement LIPObind. The ‘science’ bit LIPObind is a certified medical product made from dried cactus extract, which, taken after food creates a fat-fibre complex that’s too large to be absorbed by the small intestine, so is then passed through the body naturally. Clinical trials have proven: • LIPObind removes 27% of undigested fats • 2 LIPObind tablets have been proven to bind up to 17g of fat • LIPObind is 100% natural, offering an alternative to prescription weight management products LIPObind costs £24.95 for 60 tablets and is available from Julian Graves and Goldshield Healthcare by calling 08700 77 88 33 or visiting www.lipobind.com.
