Short-throw projectors come of age Tuesday 12 February 2008 PDF Print The Steljes press office Tel: 08450 724 750 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org Steljes sells its 6,000th Short Throw Projector 12th February 2008, Bagshot, Surrey: Steljes, the technology pioneering organisation, recently celebrated the 6,000th sale of its short-throw projectors and is predicting a boom market for this type of technology. Steljes has been shipping short-throw technology with interactive whiteboards for more than two years and has become an established leader in this market. The company’s experience started with the introduction of the NEC WT610 followed by SMART Unifi 35 and then the launch last summer of the Toshiba Extreme Short-Throw Projector (ESP). Steljes consolidates its line-up of short-throw projectors with the latest product from Epson, recently launched at the BETT 2008 show, and additions to their SMART portfolio with the new 680i. This solution combines SMART’s flagship SMART Board 680 interactive whiteboard with the new Unifi 45 projector, offering a much improved projected image and lower cost than the original system. Mark Bird, Group Sales & Business Development Director at Steljes, commented: “We have now shipped over 6,000 short-throw projectors and are starting to see it become a market leader. The Toshiba ESP solution, for example, offers a fantastic sales opportunity for our resellers. Not only does it fit perfectly with a SMART Board™ interactive whiteboard, 5 or 6 series, but it can be retrofitted to replace existing projectors. “Short-throw projectors offer easier installation, additional security, and minimal shadowing and glare – features that our customers have been demanding. Our improved pricing structure is encouraging mass adoption of this technology,” he concluded. Last year Analyst firm, Decision Tree Consulting (DTC) forecast that the short-throw projector market would boom. Colin Messenger, senior consultant at DTC said: “As more and more customers appreciate the benefits of short- throw technology, we forecast that 11 per cent of all new boards will be installed with a short-throw projector, rising to 48 per cent by 2011.” Ends ABOUT STELJES Steljes Limited is a technology pioneering organisation.
