London – 27 February 2008. Trendy bags made of multicoloured truck tarpaulins are the trademark of Zurich-based Freitag Lab AG. Customers know that when they order a bespoke bag from the Freitag online shop there will be no other quite like it. In realising their unique Web concept, the Swiss designers use the PIM (Product Information Management)-based e-commerce solution from hybris software, which replaces the old in-house development. The Munich-based software producer supported Freitag in mastering production information management, integrating it into other systems and optimising processes – which all added up to increased sales. Since the new shop went online, Freitag has been able to boost its online sales by 30 per cent, and now has 70 per cent fewer returns too.

The hybris solution controls the Freitag shop’s entire web operations, and ensures the company can manage all online systems using the integrated Content Management System. This includes organising the product data and the automatic integration of various e-commerce processes. hybris also developed a fast photo process especially for Freitag that can photograph tens of thousands of bags from all angles, save them and display them in the online shop. Process improvements have led to twice as many orders being processed through the new online shop in the same time. Now customers can also find out how many people are looking at which products too: “This service gives Internet shoppers all sorts of benefits: Freitag is practising what many only know from the theory of e-commerce 2.0,” says Ariel Lüdi, CEO of the hybris Group. A decisive aspect of the shared objectives of Freitag and hybris was their integration in the new website concept of real-time customer monitoring and analyses of their buying behaviour. Lüdi: “Customers can now examine and compare every bag and accessory online – truly a Version 2.0 shopping experience”.
