Seven Innovative food&drink Companies To Showcase The Best of British Talent

-food&drink towers’ Megatrends Media Party, London, 25th June 2008-

food&drink towers (http://www.foodanddrinktowers.com) will unveil an innovative and informal approach to networking on 25th June 2008. Combining the most effective elements of networking and PR events, exhibitions and media parties, food&drink towers has created a new format to successfully improve communication between the food&drink industry and the media.

Seven forward-thinking food&drink companies will get the invaluable opportunity to talk to journalists face-to-face about their latest launches, marketing campaigns and plans for the future, as well as sample products and get honest, instant feedback. Journalists, in turn, can make vital contacts in an informal but professional environment and most importantly, get exclusive access to the small to medium-sized players that are all too often overlooked in favour of multinationals and bigger players with massive communications budgets.

The food&drink towers Megatrends Media Party, in association with RDA Organic, is sponsored by the Almond Board of California, Antony Worrall Thompson’s food range, Extraordinary Foods, Porter Foods, wineSight and Wyke Farms.

The headline sponsor, RDA Organic (http://www.rdaorganic.com), will showcase its latest two new ranges: Sqqquishy and Squeeezy smoothies for kids and the Fresh Functional Superfruit drinks made with Evesse apples – the UK’s superfruit.

The other sponsors are looking forward to showcasing their high-quality, innovative products including Californian almonds; AWT’s ready meals, ambient gravy, breadsticks, croutini and croutons; Extraordinary Foods’ Southern Alps range and gift boxes packed with ethical food&drink; Porter Foods’ gourmet range including Wild Hibiscus (Rosella) Flowers, Vincotto PrimitivO and Porters Kitchen Vegetable Pouches; wineSight’s delicious Sublimelle French wine; and Wyke Farms will unveil new products to complement its cheddar cheese and butter variants.

Helen Lewis, managing director of food&drink towers, said: “The outstanding interest we’ve had in this first event - from journalists and the food&drink industry –reinforces our belief that we are filling a gap in the market for a modern take on the old-fashioned event/exhibition formats that have been associated with this industry for far too long. This is the latest innovative strategy in a series of steps food&drink towers has undertaken since its launch in October 2006 to increase communication between the producers/retailers and the media.

“It is unfair that the smaller players miss out on media coverage because they cannot afford to pay annual PR fees. Small to medium-sized companies have plenty to talk about, and are often the most innovative, proactive and responsive to consumer demands and trends. The Megatrends Media Party focuses on the three important trends influencing purchasing decisions and new product development in the food&drink business: convenience, health and indulgence/premiumisation.”
