Bristol, London and Southampton, revealed to be the ‘fittest cities in the UK’ by a well-known fitness magazine have “by no coincidence”; bought more copies of Nintendo WiiFit than any other city, according to TeleBid, a leading European online Auction site.

A leading online auction website has discovered a direct correlation between the three fittest cities in the UK and the number of Nintendo Wii consoles and WiiFit games sold. Not only were Bristol, London and Southampton named the three fittest cities in the UK by Men’s Health, they were also home to the most purchases of the health-orientated games console according to auction site Telebid.com.

Thousands of health conscious users in Bristol are snapping-up a large number of the items won as the eager south westerners look to find a great online bargain on TeleBid.

The health and fitness orientated Nintendo Wii accounts for a large majority of games consoles bought by residents of Bristol, London and Southampton. Bristol buys the most Nintendo Wiis compared to other consoles such as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with 3 Wiis being won for every one rival console.

The top 10 cities to buy WiiFit based on the Telebid sales statistics are as follows:

1. Bristol
2. Southampton
3. London
4. Manchester
5. Liverpool
6. Glasgow
7. Edinburgh
8. Birmingham
9. Cardiff
10. Leeds

Nigel Whiteoak, UK manager of www.Telebid.com said,

“These results are really interesting – we can see a real relationship between the cities that are considered ‘fitter’ and the location of our bidders who prefer Nintendo Wiis. This can by no means be a coincidence.”

He continued,

“Telebid has seen great growth here in the UK, with particular interest in our Wii and Wii Fit auctions. Our bidders love the thrill of competing for the chance of a bargain, and our winners love the great deals they get. Winning on TeleBid requires a blend of skill, judgement and persistence, but everyone can have a bit of fun taking part.”

Bid auction site www.Telebid.com has a unique and entertaining way of running its auctions - users pay 50p to place each bid, competing to win brand new electrical items including Nintendo Wiis, PS3s, TVs, mp3 players, Xbox 360s, laptops for prices well below the manufacturers’ recommended retail prices (RRPs).

The bidding site is gaining a UK following thanks to exposure on social network giant Facebook, with almost 3,000 fans signed up to its fan page.
