You Can Still Be a Family Person and Be a Successful Entrepreneur Wednesday 2 July 2008 PDF Print Successful Entrepreneurs have a reputation as being all work, cold souls and little time for families. But the Chris Cardell Entrepreneur Summit held at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Westminster, London, last weekend, presented a very different story. Some of the worlds wealthiest entrepreneurs gathered in London last weekend and shared knowledge, experience and the mindset needed to drive their businesses forward to achieve an even higher level of success. There was a clear message that even the most successful entrepreneurs value the time with their families and some even identified that in their journey to success, not having time for a family was one of their biggest regrets. Duncan Bannatyne explained how he made a conscious decision to sell his own ice cream business to go into residential homes which eventually led to gyms to spend more time with his family. Alison Boxall, Internet Entrepreneur of IzziwizziKids.co.uk presented her success story to 500 entrepreneurs as she brought her internet business into the limelight on GMTV, Lorraine Kelly Today. She has built a successful Internet business with 3 children aged 4 and under, the youngest being only 5 months old. “It can be very hard work, but staying focussed with lots of determination helps. Most importantly is not losing sight of enjoying the moment with my very young children as this time will never come back”, said Alison. Chris Cardell added “Success is all about being an implementer, not just thinking but actually doing something about it. Alison gave birth to her third baby ‘Emily’ in January and is a classic case of someone who implements”.
