LONDON (31 October 2014) — National Geographic Traveller (UK) and the National Geographic London Store have launched a Travel Writing Masterclass in association with Travellers’ Tales.

The inaugural travel writing Masterclass will offer a unique opportunity to learn from the influential editors behind one of the UK’s most successful travel magazines and independent agency, Travellers' Tales, who will share their expertise and inspire you to put pen to paper.

Maria Pieri, Editorial Director, National Geographic Traveller, UK said: “This is an excellent opportunity to meet the key players behind the magazine, and from the industry, to understand what it is they look for when they are commissioning and selecting features for the title whether it’s online or in print. This could be the first of many!”

The Travel Writing Masterclass will cover the following areas:

• Turning travels into stories
• How to get your work published
• How to set up a travel blog

One of the lucky attendees will also have the opportunity to have their work published on the National Geographic Traveller website and in the magazine. A task will be set at the end of the session and a critique can be booked after the day from Travellers’ Tales. A goody bag will also be given featuring a copy of the magazine, a 10% discount voucher in-store, and a branded bag, plus more.
