London, UK, 7 November 2014 – Today, leading family history website Findmypast.co.uk announces a new milestone: the site now has over two billion records from around the world. Importantly, ahead of Remembrance Day, Findmypast now has the most comprehensive online collection of military service records. Their extensive military collection also includes over two million records of soldiers and sailors, and millions of records of those who enlisted to fight in the world wars. In their huge archive, they also have fascinating records that tell how the plastic surgery industry was born on the battlefields of Flanders due to the injuries sustained by troops in World War One.

To properly commemorate Remembrance Day, Findmypast will be making their global records available for FREE all weekend to make it easy for people to discover the heroes in their own families. They are making their collection of family history records from around the world (including the most comprehensive collection of Irish records available online) available for FREE from Friday 7th November to Monday 10th November.
