H&T Pawnbrokers support The Poppy Appeal

Monday 10th November 2014; UK: This year marks 100 years since the First World War. In memory of all those who have lost their lives in war, H&T Pawnbrokers has been supporting The Royal British Legion and The Poppy Appeal 2014. In all of their 187 stores, H&T Pawnbrokers staff have been selling poppies and rattling their collection tins to raise funds. Today the Head Office team held a remembrance gathering, with everyone wearing red and black and having a moment of reflection over tea and cakes. All proceeds will go to The Royal British Legion.

John Nichols, H&T Pawnbrokers CEO said, ‘Last year’s Poppy Appeal raised £39 million and we hope our staff and customer donations collected throughout the UK will help The Royal British Legion to meet their £40 million target for 2014. The range of support they provide to members of the Armed Forces community – including welfare, financial assistance, and rehabilitation - is invaluable.’

H&T Pawnbrokers are keen fundraisers, so far this year they collected more than 7,000 chocolate Easter Eggs for local children’s hospitals, carried out a nationwide baton relay this summer raising over £20,000 for Cancer Research UK and also supported the Macmillan Coffee Morning, with a cheque handover planned for later this month.
