hypnosis has been clinically proven to help women manage both physical symptoms and emotional distress

Maggie Howell, one of the U.K.'s leading hypnotherapists and founder of award winning Natal Hypnotherapy, is delighted at the news today showing even more evidence that Hypnosis is a powerful adjunct to traditional medicine in the care of women suffering from breast cancer. This new research has shown that women who had a session of hypnosis prior to an operation recovered more quickly and suffered less symptoms stop. This follows on from the Cochrane review in February 2014, which found promising evidence for the effectiveness of hypnosis in breast cancer care, specifically having a positive affect on symptoms of pain, distress, fatigue, and nausea. The conclusion of the cochrane report was hypnosis should be considered as an ancillary intervention in the management of breast cancer-related symptoms.

Maggie Howell, who is best known for her award-winning self hypnosis CDs for conception pregnancy and birth, says "The use of hypnosis can play a significant role for both women who are approaching childbirth and women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Using hypnosis can help by reducing levels of adrenaline, reducing stress, overcoming emotional anxiety, reduce nausea and vomiting, reducing fear and reducing pain. It can also help to increase levels of self belief, confidence in her body and a sense of positivity. Hypnosis is not a magic wand and there are no guarantees, however hypnosis has been clinically proven to help women manage both physical symptoms and emotional distress. This alone will enable women to feel a little more positive and in control of how they are responding to a series of events which often feel so out of their control."

Maggie's new series of self hypnosis CDs/MP3 to support women with beast cancer will be available in the new year.
